Protest against oil: "Everton" match was stopped due to a fan who chained himself to a goalpost © JumpStory

Football fans' protests have reached a new level – we can boldly say this after last week's fan intervention in the "Everton" and "Newcastle United" match. At the beginning of the second half, the action in the game was halted when a fan from the stands managed to suddenly lock himself to the goalpost with a fastening strap. Home stadium security personnel had to use very large restraints to unlock this protester. The protester's banner read: "Just stop the oil." Many on social media likened this fan to actor Paul Dano's characters. This fan was compared to a character from the movie "The Prisoners" and in the latest Batman film, where P. Dano plays "The Riddler." After the protester's intervention at the end of the match, an additional 14 minutes of extra time were added.
