PSG and "Monaco" reached the semi-finals of the French league cup

Today and yesterday were played the quarter-final matches of the French league cup.

On Tuesday, in the matches that took place, the recently crowned "Ligue 1" champion defending team "Paris Saint-Germain" defeated "Bastia" and the same team was victorious in the national championship as well.

Playing at home, the "Bastia" team fell behind their opponent "Rennes" by a score of 1-0 after the first half, but former London "Arsenal" defender Sebastien Squilacci scored a goal shortly after the start of the second half. Then a player from the visiting team was sent off, and the second goal was scored into their net. After another player from "Rennes" was sent off, Djibril Cisse solidified the lead in the final moments of the match.

Meanwhile, "Paris Saint-Germain" narrowly defeated "Saint-Etienne", who currently hold a higher position in "Ligue 1". The only goal was scored by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In today's matches, "Monaco" and "Lille" secured a spot in the semifinals. The country's vice champions defeated "Guingamp" with a score of 2-0. Dimitar Berbatov stood out in the ranks of Leonardo Jardim's disciples in the first half. After playing for a little over half an hour, a red card was shown to the opponent's player Christophe Mandanne, but the lead for "Monaco" was only solidified in the 90th minute when substitute Anthony Martial scored a goal.

In turn, "Lille" also defeated "Nantes" with the same score. The goals were scored by defenders Sebastien Corchia and Simon Kjaer.
