"Paris St.Germain" club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi has confirmed that the Paris team is withdrawing from the fight for the acquisition of Real Madrid's goalkeeper Angel Di Maria.
The Argentine national team winger has been constantly linked this summer with PSG or "Manchester United" clubs, but the French champions have refused the opportunity to acquire this player.
"It is true that we were in negotiations with Florentino Perez for the transfer of Angel Di Maria. However, he was too expensive for us and the negotiations are no longer taking place," said N. Al-Khelaifi.
This summer, PSG has already spent 50 million acquiring "Chelsea" defender David Luiz, and has also had to pay a 60 million euro fine for financial rule violations.
A. Di Maria has a contract with Real Madrid until 2018, and any other team wishing to acquire him would have to pay at least 60 million euros.
