"Paris Saint-Germain" defender Marquinhos openly spoke about "Barcelona" club's interest in him in an interview for "Le Parisien," as reported by "fcbarcelona.lt."
A few days ago, the Paris team acquired Brazilian David Luiz from London's "Chelsea" for an impressive sum, so now the chances of the young defender to play in the starting lineup have decreased even more.
The promising Marquinhos, who arrived at "Paris Saint-Germain" just before the season, still lost the competition to more experienced teammates - Thiago Silva and Alex were more often in the center of Paris' defense, with the twenty-year-old Brazilian usually replacing them from the bench.
"If indeed Barcelona is interested in me, such attention pleases me. It is the only club that managed to win all possible trophies in one season," said Marquinhos.
The defender also noted that David Luiz "made the right choice in choosing the Paris team": "Now, when you see that the team is complemented by such players, you begin to understand how hard it will be to work to play in the starting lineup and spend more time on the field."
However, Marquinhos also expressed some doubts about his future in the French capital team.
"I have a contract with Paris Saint-Germain that is valid until 2018, but I cannot say what will happen next. My agent will definitely talk to the current team management because the upcoming season will be very important for me."
