PSG extends contract with L. Blanc for the nearest future

The football news portal Goal.com reported that the leaders of "Paris Saint-Germain" are satisfied with the work of head coach Laurent Blanc and will sign a new contract with the Frenchman in the near future.

For a long time, there have been talks that the future coach of the "Ligue 1" champions could be Jose Mourinho, who was recently dismissed from "Chelsea" in London, but it seems that this will not happen at least in the near future.

Blanc's team is performing excellently this season in the domestic league - after 18 rounds of the French championship, PSG is at the top of the table and is ahead of their closest pursuers by as much as 17 points.

Goal.com also reported that the coach and the club's sports director Olivier Letang started negotiations back in November, and the final contract details will be ironed out before the UEFA Champions League clash with "Chelsea".

It is believed that the new contract for the 50-year-old coach will run until 2018. However, if PSG once again fail to achieve anything in Europe, they may part ways with Blanc earlier.
