Tragically starting the season, even though they were considered one of the favorites to win the French championship before it began, the team announced that they are looking for a striker who could help current club's attacking leader Pedro Pauleta. The most likely candidates to join the capital team's ranks are named as Louis Saha, Fredi Kanoute, and Shabani Nonda.
Lately, after the addition of Alan Smith and Wayne Rooney, Saha spends very little time on the field, and "Man Utd" coach Sir Alex Ferguson stated that he might agree to loan the French national team striker. However, Saha himself claims he does not want to leave Manchester and will try to fight for a place in the main squad of the "Red Devils."
Another striker representing a Premier League team, Fredi Kanoute, also stated that he does not want to move to France, despite recently receiving criticism from his team's coach Martin Jol.
So the only real candidate to join "P.S.G" is Shabani Nonda, who was the top scorer in Ligue 1 two years ago, but now is constantly warming the bench. Nonda's contract with Monaco expires next summer, and he is not inclined to extend it at the moment, so it is believed that Monaco would be willing to sell their striker for about 1.5 million euros.
