PSG owner Nasser Al-Khelaifi revealed to the French press that they had won the competitive battle for Real Madrid's goalkeeper Angel Di Maria.
The footballer would have come to the Ligue 1 team instead of Man Utd, but the Parisian club decided that the player was not worth such big money.
"Regarding the Argentine's transfer, I held negotiations with the president of the royal club, Florentino Perez, I made an offer, but we couldn't agree on the transfer fee.
It's not related to the rules of fair play, he was just too expensive for me. Di Maria was already planning to come to Paris, but the deal didn't happen," the manager said.
He also revealed that they had received an impressive offer for defender Marquinhos.
"Barcelona promised to pay more than 40 million euros, but we don't buy players to sell them later. We are trying to build a great club with talented footballers. Otherwise, this summer we would have sold 3-4 players, but that's not my philosophy," Al-Khelaifi insisted.
