"Paris Saint-Germain" head coach Laurent Blanc confirmed that midfielders Blaise Matuidi and Marco Verratti will miss the upcoming "Ligue 1" clash with "Montpellier", but hopes that the players will be able to appear against London's "Chelsea".
The Parisians will travel to the English capital in order to secure a place in the UEFA Champions League quarterfinals. The first leg between the two teams in France ended with a 2-1 victory for the hosts.
Matuidi injured his shoulder in the "Coupe de la Ligue" match against "Saint-Etienne", but the severity of the injury is still unclear. Meanwhile, Verratti did not feature in that match as he struggles to recover from a groin injury.
"Tests will be performed on Blaise," Blanc said at a press conference.
"We will monitor him. I won't lie, it's never a good sign. The seriousness of the injury will be further assessed, but I hope he will recover. Maybe not for tomorrow, but for the match against Chelsea.
"He's not in the squad," added the PSG strategist when talking about Verratti. "It's complicated. We will try to get him back in time for the clash with Chelsea.
However, Blanc also revealed some good news for the team's supporters - after missing two games, one of the leaders Angel Di Maria will join the Parisians again."
