Yesterday evening, the winner of the "Eredivisie" championship was revealed - for the third time in the last four seasons, it was the Eindhoven PSV club, who defeated their main competitor, Amsterdam's "Ajax". Before this showdown, the capital's footballers were the only ones who could still challenge the leaders, but their hopes were shattered in the first half, during which Gaston Pereiro and Luuk de Jong scored. Immediately after the break, Steven Bergwijn made PSV's lead even more convincing, and "Ajax" eventually remained with only nine players, as Nicolas Tagliafico and Siem de Jong both received red cards. With three rounds left in the season, Eindhoven's team has already secured a ten-point advantage. After the setback, "Ajax" will still need to secure the second position on the league table, which is being pursued by AZ Alkmaar trailing behind by five points.
