On Thursday, the schedule for the 2020-2021 English Premier League season was officially presented. The strongest English teams will start the season on September 12, and in the first round, the champions Liverpool will host the returning Leeds United players in the Premier League at home. The central match of the first round will take place in London, where Tottenham will host the ambitious Everton team. However, two matches of the first round are already postponed. This is due to the extended season of Manchester United and Manchester City in European tournaments. Man Utd finished the season on August 16, and Man City - a day earlier. Premier League officials have confirmed for some time now that teams playing in European tournaments will have at least a 30-day break before the first match. This means that the dates for the Burnley vs. Man Utd and Man City vs. Aston Villa matches are currently unknown. The first match between Man City and Liverpool will take place on November 7 at the Etihad Stadium, and the first Manchester derby at Old Trafford will take place before Christmas - on December 12.
