After the victorious footballers' match with Madrid's "Getafe", the Katalonijos club captain's injury marred the victory.
In the second half, Carles Puyol tried to kick the ball from under Madrid's Abdelaziz Barrada's feet, but unfortunately missed and twisted his leg.
The 34-year-old defender could no longer continue playing and was forced to leave the field. Barcelona's coach in this match, Jordi Roura, replaced the Catalan with Javier Mascherano.
Immediately after the match, detailed tests on Puyol's leg did not bring good news. It turned out that the captain of the Katalonijos club had severely strained the cruciate ligaments of his left knee. No fractures were found.
