Quique Setien asserts that Barcelona faces the "El Clasico" match at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium without any additional pressure.
Yesterday evening, Barcelona and Madrid's Real teams will clash in the Spanish capital. After a surprising defeat by Real in the last round, the Catalans returned to the top position, so they are now the leaders of the situation.
Real can regain the leader's position yesterday evening. However, there is not much positivity in the "white" camp - a painful defeat to Man City midweek.
"These are very important matches for our team. We have a chance to increase the gap in the league table," said Q. Setien at a press conference.
"This may not be a decisive match for them (Real), but certainly more important than for us, as we have a chance to widen the gap to 5 points. I'm not saying it will all be decided here - both us and them have many matches ahead," explained the strategist.
It will be Q. Setien's first "El Clasico." He has experience on how to defeat the Madrid club - at the end of last season, the team he coached, Real Betis, celebrated a victory at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium with a score of 2:0.
"I am looking forward to matches like this, which are always special. So far, I have watched the El Clasico from my couch. These matches evoke special emotions for many people. We want to play high-quality football for 90 minutes and come back with a victory."
