Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroza claims that his team was knocked out of the Champions League because of the representation of Fernandas Morientes, who belongs to "Real", but is currently loaned to a French club this season.
Morientes, who has represented the Spanish national team 31 times, scored two goals in the "Real" goal in the two quarter-final matches, and Queiroza claims that the second goal scored by Fernando was a decisive turn in yesterday's match, which the French won 3-1.
The overall result of the quarterfinal was 5-5, but due to a greater number of away goals scored, the leaders of the French championship moved forward.
"The result is fair, as they scored three goals and I believe the second goal scored by Fernandas was decisive, as it gave them confidence in their abilities," Queiroza stated.
"This defeat is very painful for us," continued the Portuguese, "The players are very disappointed now, because they were leading 1-0."
Meanwhile, Morientes himself was very pleased with yesterday's victory: "It was a historic victory for Monaco, but we must not rest on our laurels, as we can achieve more."
