The coach of the English club Rafael Benitez explained why for the first time after 100 games break he sent out the unchanged starting eleven for the Champions League match against Bordeaux compared to the previous match.

"The players were physically strong enough to play and had enough motivation required for the Champions League. So I thought that if we play well, have confidence in our abilities, and have time, we can use the same lineup," explained R. Benitez.

In the match against Bordeaux at home, Liverpool secured a confident victory with a score of 3-0 after the first goal by Steven Gerrard this season and two precise strikes by Luis Garcia, securing a place in the knockout stage with a couple of group stage matches remaining.

However, R. Benitez has already stated that he is preparing to make changes in the lineup for the upcoming Champions League match against PSV Eindhoven at home on November 22. Since qualification to the next stage is already guaranteed, the coach said that he will allow younger players to gain experience in European competitions."
