This season, Rafael Benitez, who coached Real Madrid team, had no shortage of praise for his former protege Gareth Bale.
The strategist led the "Whites" for about six months, but due to poor performance and difficult relationships with team members, he was dismissed. However, throughout the whole period, it was evident that R. Benitez maintained good relations specifically with G. Bale and gave him more freedom on the field.
At the beginning of the season, the 26-year-old footballer did not show good sporting form, but goals started pouring in from December, and now he has scored 13 goals. Unfortunately, maintaining good sporting form was disrupted for the footballer due to an ankle injury suffered a month ago.
"I never had any problems with Bale. He was a true professional who listened to all your instructions," said R. Benitez. "He did his job well both on the field and in the gym."
"I see a lot of improvement in him. There are areas where he still needs to work, but already Gareth is a very good footballer. If he doesn't stop and continues to work hard, I see no reason why he couldn't be the best in a couple of years," added R. Benitez.
