The head coach of Madrid's "Real" club, Rafael Benitez, was pleased to advance to the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, but admitted that the game was not very good and is awaiting the return of injured players.
Yesterday, at the "Santiago Bernabeu" stadium, the fourth match of Group A took place, in which the "White" team clashed with Paris Saint-Germain. After a tough battle, the hosts showed superiority against the French visitors by a minimal margin and secured their spot in the next stage after the victory.
However, in this match, R. Benitez lost another important player - Marcelo. Without the injured Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale so far, it seems that James Rodriguez, who led "Real" to victories last season, is ready for the upcoming matches.
"I am very happy about advancing to the next stage," the coach told journalists after the victory. "The game itself was not very good and there is room for improvement, but we await the return of several players."
"PSG is a top-class team. Although it was not easy, we won. We achieved a positive result against a strong opponent, and most importantly, we are in the next stage," concluded R. Benitez.
"Real" will have to face Donetsk's "Shakhtar" and "Malmo" in the group stage.
