The team fighting for survival in the German Bundesliga is strengthening with another player - the team has signed a contract with Swiss national team and Zurich team midfielder Ricardo Cabanas.
The 27-year-old footballer, voted the best player in the Swiss Super League last season, signed a contract for the next five and a half years with the Cologne team.
The new team's head coach, Hanspeter Latour, who joined the team this month from the same Zurich club, said: "I am very happy that Ricci decided to join us - he is the player who will help us perform better in matches."
Cologne had previously signed a loan agreement with the duo Boris Zivkovic and Marco Stellari, as well as Brazilian Evanilson, who arrived from the Mineiro team.
