After the last match of Group E between the national teams of Ghana and the United States, both coaches praised their teams, but only one of them made it to the next stage - the sensation-providing Ghana will continue to participate in the championship, while the United States team can already prepare to go home.

Ghana's coach Ratomir Dujkovic was pleased with the team's achievement: "It was a very nerve-wracking match, especially because the United States needed points very much. I am happy with the performance of my team, but this time we didn't play as we always do. The opponents pressed us and tried to win. Therefore, we couldn't play our game."

"We have reached the next stage and we are very happy. Now we will face the strongest team in the world and we are proud that we will be able to play against them."

"This is a historic day for the Ghanaian national team. We have reached the quarter-finals for the first time. We can only imagine what is happening on the streets of Ghana - everyone is celebrating."

One of the best players of the match, Stephen Appiah, was also very satisfied: "I am happy with the victory and reaching the next stage. Now we are defending not only the name of Ghana but also the whole African continent. Now we are up against the Brazilian national team. It will be very interesting matches and we are not afraid of anything."

The losing coach, Bruce Arena, regretted that his team failed to take advantage of opportunities: "I am sorry for my team. We played a good game. We controlled the game, but ended the first half trailing by one goal. In the second half, we had chances to score, but we didn't capitalize on them. It's very difficult to play against a team that had all their attention focused on defense. I think we played well, but we were destined to score only one goal."
