R. Ferdinand: It's a football war determined by a business decision

Legendary English footballer Rio Ferdinand has joined the ranks of critics who were outraged by the plans to create the Super League. "These clubs must be sanctioned. This is a war in football, disrespect and shame. This shows no attention to history, the people who belong to the pyramid from the lowest to the highest level. The strongest teams intend to drift even further apart. Shame, and I still can't believe it. How did they have the audacity to do this, in the midst of a global pandemic? I think the anti-competitive element goes against everything that football stands for. Relegation, promotion, reward for victory, punishment for defeat: these are the things that add value to our beloved game. This shows that people do not understand what football is all about. It is simply a business decision," clarified R. Ferdinand. "I am a fan of 'Man Utd,' but I cannot believe such an action by the team."
