According to former "Manchester United" player Rio Ferdinand, London's "Arsenal" representative Laurent Koscielny has become the best defender in the "Premier" league in recent years.
The Frenchman, along with Per Mertesacker, performed very confidently in yesterday's UEFA Champions League match against Piraeus "Olympiacos" and helped his team win with a score of 3-0 and secure a place in the next round of the tournament.
Ferdinand believes that the main reason for the 29-year-old footballer's improvement is the newfound consistency that was lacking before.
"In my opinion, when Laurent Koscielny is in optimal form, he is the best defender in the Premier League," former English national team member told BT Sport.
"He is one of those players you don't want to play against. He is quick and aggressive."
However, Ferdinand added that in order for the defense to be complete, the "Gunners" need to acquire another defensive midfielder.
