The head coach of the England national team, Roy Hodgson, expressed disappointment with John Terry's decision to end his career in the national team.

"I would like to thank the defender for his contribution to the 'Three Lions' team. Of course, I feel disappointed that such a talented footballer with international experience is leaving," said the Englishman.

"I have always maintained a good relationship with John and am saddened by his decision. I would like to wish Terry success playing for London's Chelsea club."

The FA also thanked the former national team player: "In 78 appearances on the field representing England, he always gave his all for the team."
