England national team coach Roy Hodgson spared no compliments for Dele Alli and compared him to Bryan Robson.
London's Tottenham midfielder began the season not only in the main team lineup but also received a call-up to the national team.
The nineteen-year-old, who scored seven goals in 42 matches for the club, will play his fifth match for the national team today.
Robson, representing England in midfield, appeared in 90 matches and scored 26 goals.
"Dele Alli can do anything in midfield. He can run from one penalty area to another. He can play as a number ten or as a defensive midfielder. He can be anything. His talent is versatile," said Hodgson.
"He can run, fight for the ball, make passes, score goals. Bryan Robson is the player he can become, I think."
"But he is only nineteen. It is dangerous to say such things. He is still at the beginning of his career, which hopefully will be very long. However, he would not be in the team if I didn't believe in him."
"I have been impressed by him all season. When you have such a young player and see his talent despite the fact that he is nineteen and has not represented the U-21 team, including him in the squad and sending him onto the field is a brave decision."
"Nevertheless, Ryan Lewington, Gary Neville, and I are confident in his abilities, so we took the opportunity and got him back."
This evening, in a friendly match against Germany, Dele Alli should play behind his teammate Harry Kane.
