Bayern Munich's striking leader Robert Lewandowski confirmed reports that he is successfully negotiating a new contract with the team.
According to the Pole, only the details need to be agreed upon before signing the contract.
"The signatures are not yet on the paper, but already 95 percent of everything has been discussed," said R. Lewandowski.
The current striker's contract is valid until 2021, and a new contract would keep the 31-year-old player in Munich until the summer of 2023.
Having scored 22 goals in the Bundesliga last season, the Pole hopes to perform not worse this year.
"I can always play better and have the potential to improve every season. No matter who I play against, I always try to score goals," he said.
