R. Lukaku: 23 out of 25 "Inter" players could have had coronavirus. © JumpStory

Milan's "Inter" forward Romelu Lukaku claims that he and many other players from the club could have contracted coronavirus much earlier. Although no cases of the disease were officially recorded in the Serie A team, the Belgian said it could have happened in the months of December-January. "We had a week off in December and when we returned to training, I can swear that 23 out of 25 players were sick. I'm not joking. We played against the 'Cagliari' club and after just 25 minutes, one of our team's defenders (Milan Skriniar, officially reported to have not yet recovered from the flu - ed. note) had to leave the field because he almost fainted," said R. Lukaku. The first case of coronavirus in Italy was officially recorded on February 21, so the Inter players were not tested. "Everyone was coughing and sneezing. When I was shivering, I felt that I had a higher fever than usual, and I hadn't had a fever for many years," said the athlete, who will still have the opportunity to find out if he has had coronavirus. Before resuming the training of Serie A teams, tests will be carried out and it will be clarified which players have already developed antibodies to the disease.
