Romelu Lukaku revealed that during the summer one Premier League club was very interested in acquiring him, but his move was blocked by Liverpool's Everton.
In the media, the Belgian was linked with a return to Chelsea, which he left two years ago, or a transfer to Juventus in Turin.
However, the "blues" acquired Michy Batshuayi, and the "bianconeri" got Gonzalo Higuain, so the 23-year-old footballer continues to lead the Merseyside team forward.
"I'm not going to lie. There was a specific club in England that really wanted to buy me," Lukaku told Sport/Voetbalmagazine.
"Nevertheless, the new Everton coaching staff made me understand that they didn't want me to leave. What can you do when that happens?"
Indeed, Lukaku also hinted that he wouldn't mind moving to another team in the future, as he dreams of competing for trophies. Winning the Premier League with Liverpool's Everton in the near future doesn't seem very realistic.
