On Saturday evening, four more matches of the 29th round of the English Premier League were played.
At "Old Trafford" stadium, "Manchester United" hosted "Southampton." In a thrilling battle, Romelu Lukaku shone throughout the entire match and became the hero of the "Red Devils" - his brace led the hosts to a 3-2 victory.
The hosts were in the roles of the trailing team for most of the match. In the 26th minute, the impressive goal was scored by 20-year-old defender Yann Valery from about 23 meters.
In the second half, "Man Utd" came back into the fight when Andreas Pereira scored an even more amazing goal in the 53rd minute. The "red devils" did not stop there - after A. Pereira's pass, Romelu Lukaku put the hosts ahead in the 59th minute.
However, "Southampton" found a way to once again punish David De Gea - James Ward-Prowse scored a perfect penalty in the 75th minute.
The teams were approaching a draw, but R. Lukaku took on the role of the leader when it was needed the most. In the 88th minute, the Belgian fired a shot from about 18 meters low, which the opponents' goalkeeper failed to react to.
In additional time, Paul Pogba had the chance to score a fourth goal from the penalty spot, but his shot was inaccurate. Nevertheless, "Man Utd" achieved victory and returned to the fourth position.
In other matches, "Manchester City" secured a minimal victory against "Bournemouth" thanks to Riyad Mahrez's goal.
Until the Liverpool derby tomorrow morning, "Man City" climbs to the first position.
The remaining matches ended with victories for "Crystal Palace," "Wolves," "West Ham," and "Brighton."
