One of the most important "Leicester City" players Riyad Mahrez has received recognition.
The 25-year-old attacking midfielder was named the best African footballer of 2016 and surpassed Borussia Dortmund's striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the polls.
"I am very happy that I have won this title. If we speak honestly, the competition was between two great players and it is never easy to decide who to award such an accolade to," said the Algerian.
"My next goal is the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. I hope that with the Algerian national team we will achieve a high result there."
