On Sunday, the Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) held the award ceremony for the best players of this season's English "Premier" league.
PFA announced that the best player of this season's "Premier" league was Leicester City's forward Riyad Mahrez. The 25-year-old Algerian national team member competed with his teammates Jamie Vardy and N'Golo Kante, as well as Dimitri Payet, Mesut Ozil, and Harry Kane for this title.
R. Mahrez is one of the most outstanding players of this season. As he led Leicester City close to the Premier league title, Mahrez played 34 matches, scored 17 goals, and made 11 assists this season. This is the first time the title of the best player of the Premier league season has gone to a Leicester City representative.
Another award winner this season was Dele Alli, who shone brightly in the colors of London's Tottenham club. The 20-year-old player, scoring 10 goals and making 9 assists this season, became the best young player of the Premier league.
J. Vardy also received recognition for breaking Ruud van Nistelrooy's record. Leicester City's forward scored in at least 11 consecutive matches at the beginning of the season.
