R. Mancini: In my opinion, Jorginho should win the "Ballon d'Or" © AP

Elections, who will win the "Ballon d'Or", or otherwise the "Golden Ball", are approaching. Football fans and experts are divided into several groups. Some believe that Robert Lewandowski, who has been arguably the best forward in the world over the past couple of years, deserves such an award. Others believe that another "Ballon d'Or" is deserved by Lionel Messi, who this summer won the "Copa America" title with Argentina. And yet others claim that Jorginho is worthy of this award, as he triumphed this year both in the Champions League and in the European Championship and was a very important player in both teams. Italy's national team coach Roberto Mancini spoke about Jorginho's chances like this: "All the players on the (Italian) list are there because they are excellent, not because of me. Jorginho, in my opinion, should win the 'Ballon d'Or'. He has won everything and truly deserves it. If he didn't win, it would be strange." On October 8, an extended list of players who are nominated for this award was announced, and on November 29, the winner of the "Golden Ball" will be announced.
