Italian coach Roberto Mancini, trying to revive the Italian national team, insists that the Nations League tournament is not a priority for his team.
So far, the "Azzurri" have failed to secure victories against the teams of Poland and Portugal.
"Our goal is to qualify for the 2020 European Championship, and we shouldn't make a drama out of it," the strategist said.
"I started my work in May, and the team has always had the goal of preparing for the qualification.
At the moment, Portugal is a better team and rightfully holds the first place in the Nations League group. And we are now fighting for the second position with the Poles.
"Of course, we can also play well," the Italian assured.
On Sunday, the Italian national team will face the Poles in an away match.
"If we lose, there won't be many changes. This can happen to England, Germany, Croatia as well. The Nations League tournament is created for national teams not to underestimate friendly matches," Mancini said.
