R. Mancini: Podolski must play better

Milan's "Inter" strategist Roberto Mancini admits that Lukas Podolski, who has not been finding his optimal athletic form, hopes for more. The German arrived in Italy this winter when he was loaned out from London's "Arsenal" club until the end of the season. However, he has not yet managed to make a mark in the "Serie A" championship. In yesterday's match, in which "Inter" lost 0-1 to the footballers of Florence's "Fiorentina", Podolski played for just over an hour and was replaced by Xherdan Shaqiri. "Shaqiri did well, but he also played on Thursday, so he needed some rest," Mancini told the club's official website. "Podolski must perform better in matches and he knows that well." After the recent failure, "Inter" is in ninth place in the "Serie A" championship.
