The Italian national team did not start the UEFA Nations League tournament as they wanted.
The "Azzurri" played a 1:1 draw against the Polish team at home, and for a long time struggled against their opponents.
"This is the first important match, so a few mistakes were inevitable, but overall, my players looked good.
We made mistakes too often when building attacks from the defensive line, which gave the Poles opportunities to counterattack.
We have many young players, and based on them we can build a team. I think we saw this in the second half, when we actively attacked and didn't make mistakes in passing," Mancini insisted.
The second match in the Nations League will be played on Monday against the Portuguese team.
