"Kaunas Žalgiris” will face two important matches in the TOPsport futsal A league. On November 21 and 22, the Žalgiris team will meet Vilkaviškis "Bruklinas” and VGTU "Vilkai.”

The first match took place yesterday at 8 PM in Vilkaviškis. Here, the "Bruklinas” and "Kaunas Žalgiris” teams played a regular season third-round match that was postponed due to the Kaunas team's participation in the Baltic futsal league. "Bruklinas” is currently in 4th place in the standings, while the league leaders "Kaunas Žalgiris” will fiercely defend their first position and aim for another season victory.

Žalgiris player Renan Mantelli stated that the team has been preparing for such moments all season when they have to play two matches in a row. According to him, the Žalgiris players are ready to give their all in both matches.

"Bruklinas” is a strong team, with which we already competed in the LFF Futsal Supercup final, so we know their playing style and will be prepared to counter their attacks. These are very important matches, as "Bruklinas” is a direct competitor in our battle for first place in the regular season,” shared R. Mantelli.

This season, "Kaunas Žalgiris” has already defeated "Bruklinas” in the Supercup final with a score of 7:2. Meanwhile, in the previous season, both teams met five times. In the regular season matches, "Kaunas Žalgiris” triumphed twice with a score of 6:1. In the semifinals, the Kaunas team also dominated, winning with scores of 7:1 and 11:2. In the LFF Futsal Cup final, the Žalgiris team once again defeated "Bruklinas” with a score of 6:2.

On Friday, November 22, "Kaunas Žalgiris” will meet the VGTU "Vilkų” team at the Vilnius College sports hall. The Vilnius team, occupying the eighth place in the standings, has only managed to secure one victory out of seven possible this season.

"I think the season is going great so far. As a newcomer, everything here is new, but our team is very strong. The Lithuanian players not only perform well on the court but also help us newcomers successfully integrate into the league. I hope that by continuing the same work, we can successfully progress towards the end of the season,” said R. Mantelli. "On Friday, we will face a more challenging match since we will be tired after Thursday's game. Nevertheless, I believe that we can achieve two victories this week and further solidify our first place.”
