Belgium's national team coach Roberto Martinez doesn't spare praise for Romelu Lukaku and believes that he can become the best striker in the world.
After the strategist lured the 23-year-old footballer to Everton for a record sum in 2014, he has been showing improving results.
This season, with 21 goals, Lukaku is the top scorer in the Premier League, so it's not surprising that negotiations for a new contract with the Toffees are stuck due to interest from European giants.
“When you work with Rom, you understand that he lives for matches. Everything in his life is related to football. In training, he always wants to do more,” Martinez told BBC Football Focus.
“He has been very dangerous scoring goals from a very young age. Every football player who is exceptional at the highest level has to stand out in some way.”
“Rom is dangerous in front of goal. From the age of 21 to 23, he has changed a lot. He wants to improve, works on positional play, and uses his body. He worked on his movement in the penalty area.”
“He never lost the exceptional ability to score goals.
“At the age of 23, I always believed he had the potential to become the best number 9 in the world because he has absolutely everything.”
This season, in addition to his 21 precise strikes in the English championship, Lukaku also added six assists.
