Roberto Martinez was delighted with the opportunity to lead the Belgian national team and praised his future players.
He will take over the reins of the team of that country after the dismissal of Marc Wilmots following "EURO 2016".
The Belgians were considered one of the favorites of the championship, but they were defeated by Wales in the quarterfinals.
Nevertheless, despite this, the Spaniard believes that his team is very capable.
"I am very proud to have become the coach of the Belgian national team. Its composition could not be better," Martinez said at a press conference.
"Belgian football has always intrigued me. This country has a lot of talented young players. Belgium commands a lot of respect from its opponents."
"However, preparation is very important. We must have ambitions."
"The Belgian mentality must change. We need to learn to accept that we are the favorites. I want my team to enjoy ball control and attacking. It is incredibly important to have a winning mentality."
"I intend to meet with every player and get to know them better."
The first match of the Belgians, led by Martinez, will take place on September 1 against the Spanish national team.
