Liverpool's "Everton" coach Roberto Martinez, after the recent goalless draws with London's "Tottenham" of John Stones, who is being sought after by London's "Chelsea", described his performance as incredibly excellent.
The defender's request to be sold this week was rejected, however, regardless, the 21-year-old footballer with "Irish" socks gave his all.
Stones' desire to leave upset some of the Merseyside team's fans, but the coach defended the player and, moreover, referred to him as a potential future national team captain.
"He has had an incredibly positive impact on our defense," - Martinez told Sky Sports.
"The understanding between him and Phil Jagielka is important. He feels calm with the ball and reads the game well."
"He coped well with all the pressure and speculation. Every Everton player will respect him for how he has handled everything."
"This shows his potential. He demonstrates qualities of a future England national team captain."
