Belgium national team – changes.
The team experienced a fiasco at the World Championships in Qatar, and head coach Roberto Martinez left the team.
The 49-year-old Spaniard's contract with the Belgian FA was valid until the end of this year, but the specialist decided not to wait for the end of the term and resigned.
"It was my last match leading the national team, and you can imagine how many emotions it caused me.
I was planning to leave anyway, even if we had become world champions. The decision was made before the championships in Qatar," clarified R. Martinez.
Roberto Martinez has been coaching the Belgian national team since 2016. In the 2018 World Championships in Russia, he managed to lead the team to third place.
