R. Montolivo: "Milan" plays without character

Riccardo Montolivo, after the unsuccessful UEFA Europa League match against AEK in Athens, said that "Milan" simply did not show character.

"Milan" for the second time in a row failed to beat the AEK team - the match ended in a draw. The "Rossoneri" will have to wait for another round to secure a spot in the Europa League quarter-finals.

"After a fairly long absence, I lacked a bit of confidence, but I am very happy to be back on the field," said R. Montolivo.

"I am very disappointed with our first half. We did not show our level, we did not show any character and we gave the ball away to anyone.

In the second half, we were better and, I think, we deserved a goal, but we are not yet a certain team and we need to improve. We have to show our opponents strong character, not just play with high passes and ultimately show a higher pace in the game.

We lack character, we lack belief that only by playing tough football we can win," added the midfielder.
