Ralf Rangnick made a successful debut at the helm of Manchester United on Sunday, as the "Red Devils" defeated Crystal Palace at home by a narrow 1-0 score. After the victorious debut, R. Rangnick praised his players' performance and admitted that he did not expect such a reaction from the footballers. "I am more than happy. The most important thing is that we managed to achieve victory. Moreover, we kept our goal dry. I think we definitely deserved the victory, as we controlled the game. The first half hour was truly impressive. The team maintained a very high pace and constantly pressed our opponents. In the first 30 minutes alone, we were missing only one, two, or even three goals that we could have scored. Obviously, it's impossible to play every game at such a pace. Nevertheless, even after that we completely controlled the game. All in all, we deserved this victory. I am pleased with keeping a clean sheet, and Fred scored a fantastic goal with his weaker foot. Honestly, I was a bit surprised by the intensity of the team. Not only did we play a game on Thursday, but we also had significantly less time to recover than our opponents. I didn't expect us to play like this after just one incomplete training session," - R. Rangnick spoke after the match.
