"Manchester City" will not lose the star of the English national team Raheem Sterling next summer - both countries are nearing an official agreement on signing a new contract.
According to "Sky Sports" sources, R. Sterling has verbally agreed to sign a new five-year contract, valid until 2023.
The current contract was set to expire in 2020, so there were rumors in the English media that the winger would try to spread his wings to Spain next summer, possibly to join Madrid's "Real" club.
However, this should not happen in the near future, as R. Sterling is expected to put pen to paper on a contract with the "Citizens" next week.
The Jamaican-born footballer joined "Man City" in 2015 and has since played 151 matches and scored 48 goals.
