"Manchester City" forward Raheem Sterling may miss the "Carabao" Cup final, in which his team will face London's "Arsenal".
Coach Pep Guardiola revealed that the Englishman was injured in a UEFA Champions League match against "Basel" that took place almost 10 days ago. This is why he also missed the unsuccessful FA Cup match against "Wigan".
The 23-year-old Englishman's sporting form is still unclear even to the "City" coach, although the crucial decision will be made on Sunday.
"He had muscle problems. He had problems before 'Basel'," Guardiola said at a press conference. "I don't know if he will be ready for Sunday."
The absence of Sterling would be particularly painful, but the much more serious injury-stricken Gabriel Jesus could finally return to the "Man City" lineup.
"We'll see tomorrow," the coach added. "Yesterday he appeared in the third training session. He looks better every day."
