R. Sterling: "The only "disease" we need to fight against right now is racism" © JumpStory

Protests continue around the world after a black, unarmed man, George Floyd, was killed by a police officer in the USA. People who are against racism have flooded the streets not only in the USA, but also in European cities, and over the weekend protests were also seen in the United Kingdom. Manchester City star Raheem Sterling openly expressed his support for the protesters and stated that racism is currently the only "disease" that the world needs to fight against. "I know this may sound a bit exaggerated, but the only 'disease' that we need to fight against right now is racism. It is currently the most important thing, as this issue has been relevant for many years. Just like with pandemics, we want to find a way to overcome it. The protesters are trying to do just that. They are trying to stop injustice and fight for their truth. I support them as long as everything is done peacefully and no one gets hurt," Sterling said on a BBC program.
