Rafael van der Vaart was introduced to the fans of Seville's "Real Betis" yesterday. The Dutchman, who arrived from the "Hamburg" club, joked that the Andalusian club will aim to win "La Liga" next season.
"This club is amazing, I feel like I'm a family member here. I am very happy to join the strongest league in the world. The last two seasons in Hamburg were unsuccessful, but I know that I am still a good player.
I talked to the head coach of the team and we plan to win the league. The most important thing is to play in our own style. A lot is said about this club, and the fact that even in a lower season, the team managed to sell 40,000 tickets," said the Dutchman.
The last and only time "Betis" won the highest football league in Spain was in 1935.
