The Herning "Midtjylland" club, competing in the Danish championship, announced that Rafael van der Vaart will join them. The 33-year-old midfielder played last season for Seville's "Real Betis", but did not fit in with the team's coach, Gus Poyet. The Dutchman played only nine matches, during which he made one assist. The extra motivation for van der Vaart to move to Denmark was that his girlfriend plays handball in that country. "I had some problems in Seville, so I tried to find a new club and then "Midtjylland" called me," said the former member of Madrid's "Real" and London's "Tottenham". "We talked, then I visited the stadium and I was really impressed by this team. I knew I wanted to play there."
