Real Madrid striker Ruud van Nistelrooy has announced that he no longer wants to play for the Dutch national team due to coach Marco van Basten.
The former Manchester United player, who has represented his country 54 times, says he does not have enough trust in the team's personnel to play for them again.
The 30-year-old Dutchman has not been called up to play for the Netherlands since the 2006 World Cup.
Last Friday in Madrid, M. van Basten explained to R. van Nistelrooy that he cannot guarantee him a place in the starting lineup, as other good strikers are also competing for it.
A few months ago, Bayern Munich defender Mark van Bommel also refused to play for the Dutch national team because he does not agree with the coach.
