On Monday evening, the last match of the fifteenth round of the English Premier League was played. Southampton's local footballers went into battle against Manchester United. The match started evenly, but the visitors took the lead in the twelfth minute, as the "Saints" captain Jose Fonte made a rough mistake. The Portuguese passed the ball directly to Robin van Persie, who found himself alone against goalkeeper Fraiser Forster and easily sent the ball into the net. However, the Manchester team did not enjoy the lead for long: after a minor foul in the penalty area, just over half an hour in, Graziano Pelle managed to score. As the whistle announcing the end of the first half sounded, the teams headed to the locker rooms with the score tied. In the second half, the "Red Devils" only made one shot on goal, but it was decisive. After Wayne Rooney's penalty kick, van Persie brilliantly slipped through the opponent's defense and scored the winning goal with one touch. After this match, Louis van Gaal's pupils climbed to third place in the standings with 28 points, while Southampton, who had been second just a few rounds ago, now found themselves in fifth place with two points less. Result: Southampton 1 - 2 Manchester United [0-1] 12' Robin van Persie [1-1] 31' Graziano Pelle [1-2] 71' Robin van Persie
