Raphael Varane ahead of tonight's "El Clasico" admitted that Lionel Messi is one of the most difficult opponents on the field.
"Barcelona" and Madrid's "Real" will clash at 9 pm tonight. R. Varane says that stopping L. Messi is an especially difficult task.
"He is an exceptional player, you can't defend against him the same way as against others," said the defender.
"He has his own unique playing qualities and doesn't allow defenders to lose concentration for a minute. To reduce the threat, we have to defend as a real team.
It all depends on collective work. We can't give him enough space in our half," continued the Frenchman.
Talking about the playing style of "Barcelona," R. Varane added that the Catalans have maintained their traditions: "I don't see many differences, the team still has the same playing identity, their own philosophy."
