Teams in the European Football Championship have an extra chance to reach the knockout stages. In the round of 16, four of the third-placed teams in the groups will compete. So far, the Swiss are leading in these races, but they have already played all three group matches. The best third-placed teams will be selected based on the points earned. If teams have the same number of points, then goal difference, goals scored, number of victories, and the fewest disciplinary violations (red card - 3 points, yellow - 1 point, two yellow cards in one match and expulsion - 3 points) will be taken into account. If these criteria still do not determine the lucky teams, then the overall ranking of the European Championship qualifiers would be considered.
