After a short trial period, Glasgow signed a one-year contract with former Senegalese goalkeeper Makhtar N'Diaye. The Scottish club is on a pre-season tour in South Africa. Here, M.N'Diaye caught the attention of the club's head coach Paul le Guen, who had previously worked with the player at Rennes.

"Rangers" confirmed the player's joining the team on their website, and P.Le Guen said: "I have known him since he was in the Rennes team, so I know he is talented. I wanted to see if he is at the right level, and I believe he is."

The 24-year-old M.N'Diaye played in the 2002 World Cup and represented the Senegal national team, spending the previous season at Swiss club Yverdon-Sport.
