Barcelona club's winger Raphinha told the portal El Pais that he hoped to play more time under Xavi and felt at one point being below the "Barça" team's radar:

"Did I ever feel somewhat unnecessary in the Catalan team? Yes... Especially during the first 6 months and also during other periods.

People constantly said that I am a bad player and need to be sold!

But right now everything is going wonderfully for me.”

"When we were trained by Xavi, I knew in advance that I would be substituted in the 60th minute.

In those 60 minutes, I tried to do everything that is possible... But sometimes nothing worked out. Even when I played well, I was still substituted.”

Raphinha has been playing for Barcelona since 2022.
